Hi guys! I'm currently at work so I don't have anything exciting to tell you about. I've been talking to my dear friend Stephanie about tattoos and piercings lately and we discussed about if we were to get a tattoo what we would get. I've been thinking of a long time of a white ink tattoo since instagram is going crazy about it, sharing all kind of cool motives. I think it's a rather descrete tattoo. Although I found a video on youtube about this tattoo artist who talked a little about the white ink and why he thinks it's stupid to get them. He don't know who started it or why, but currently it's not a very nice looking tattoo after a while since the white ink gets discolored after a while after it's been exposed to sunlight, it turns into more of a brown or skin toned color than white.
And I think his argument is pretty much that 'why get a tattoo if you can't see it'. Which I can partly agree on. I mean a tattoo isn't really cheap so why'd you wanna keep re doing it. But tattoos are also very personal and doesn't always have to be exposed to the public. Maybe it's just a personal momentum for yourself. Something to remind you of someone or something.
I like it anyway even if it might fade away. Most say it looks like a very faint scar after a while which isn't really that bad. More likely something for me. I don't mind scars, I've got plenty (but that's another story) one thing I don't want on my body is black ink. it's too big of a contrast to my extremely pale skin. Also my personal opinion is that tattoos don't always go with every outfit.
But back to the tattoo, we talked about what we would to get, and I told her I'd probably wanted to get a moon crest on my wrist as a momentum for my Sailor Moon fandom. It was the first real anime I watched as a child even if I didn't know it. In junior high I used to play sailor moon with my best friend who was very much like sailor mercery. And I've always loved that moon kingdom of hers with the princess dress/ white bride dress with pearls. So that's what I probably would get. But a white ink one. And then a few days later I found this image on tumblr. Just like I wanted it. But I don't know. tattoos aren't really my thing, but there's nothing wrong with admiring other artists work.
I just got home from work. I'm exhausted. I wish I could take a nap but if I do that, I won't wake up until tomorrow and I have a ton of stuff to do. I have several Disney requests to finish and designing my online portfolio and my other sneaky projects.
I just gotta' grab something to eat and then I'll get back to work.
So since I'm feeling slightly better (I'm feeling well enough to actually sit by the computer) I spent some hours trying to catch up with the Disney portraits.
Here's another atempt to draw another lovely lady.
I asked a week ago, or was it two? I can't remember haha. If someone wanted me to draw them Disney style. And typically enough I got a truck load of paperwork and design projects on the side to finish before I could start making these ''commissions''/requests. So this is the finished product portrait of Myth66 on tumblr!
Hi guys, a few days ago I bought myself a new tablet. I really needed one ASAP so I could start on my upcoming projects. The one I posted a few days ago is my dream tablet, but I'll have to order it since they don't sell it in stores here in Sweden. And it's quite expensive so I'll have to save some money for it. I have an old drawing tablet which I've been using almost every day since I got it, but it's for my old PC laptop (which crashed 1 year ago now), but it doesn't work on mac so I had to buy myself a new one. It's been years since I last drew something with a tablet. It's not as easy as it looks. If you use a pencil and draw paper you get some kind of a friction which gives you a bit of resistance while you're drawing. Which makes it a lot easier to get steady lines. Using a tablet on the other hand, it's like rollerskating inside on a plastic floor. It's really slippery so it's totally different. My drawing skills means jack using a tablet, it's like I'm back to basics because you really have to draw using your whole arm and shoulder instead of just using your wrist. But hey, enjoy this quick doodle I made for you ~
I want this tablet so badly. It's like its made for me or something. If you didn't know I went to art school for three years and then I studied animation at Swedens finest school for movies and theatre. So you could say that I definitely have a use for it.
FINALLY! So I'm done with one of the projects I've been working on for these last two weeks. Here's the final result. I wanted a Sailor Moon inspired t-shirt. I wasn't planning on making one this "serious" but I got caught up in it and couldn't stop! I'm sorry for keeping you waiting!
If there's something I hate almost as much as animal abuse, world hunger, poverty, murderess and rapists etc. it's cheap ass brushes. I hate painting something and this fake ass (yes I just called them fake) brushes keep shedding hair strands like animals lose their winter fur. There's nothing more frustrating than to have to use a needle or a tweezer to pick the tiny hair out of a painting smearing that paint all over and ruining it. I mean it's never okay to use cheap artist supplies, some day you'll be making fantastic art and your supplies will break down on you and ruin everything just because you decided to use a cheaper brush.
No I'm not kidding, have you ever painted something in the middle of the night just because the inspiration strikes you like a lightening from above? and then the brush just decides to give up on you and die (use any possible scenario that comes to mind) and then the art store's closed cuz it's fucking 4 am. If you're not an artist you don't know what the fuss is all about, it's because the paint dries. Yeah I know, paint that dries that's absurd. I NEVER had to deal with any of that with my good quality brushes. Yes they're a bit more expensive, but in this case it's you get what you pay for. So if you're going to paint, even if it's a one time thing, you'll never know if you'll be needing it again, buy a good quality brush.
Hi guys, I'm still buried under a ton of paperwork, and design sketches and I've been working on this shirt for like a week now. I'm so close to giving up since it takes so long time. I'm not going to sell these babies unless I find some way to make a bunch of them faster. This method I'm using takes a loooot of time and I want my designs to be affordable for everyone (I want to keep my prices low and the quality high) but I'm not quite there yet to make it worth it. I'm literally painting the motive on the shirt, it's so time consuming since I have to wait for one layer of paint to dry before I can paint a new one.
Atleast it rained today so I didn't feel too bad staying inside all day working.
So lately I've been into all kind of stores and found out that the summer/spring trend that's out in stores is black and white referee striped clothing. When I saw it, just one word popped up in my mind: Beetlejuice!! I was thinking about buying myself a set just for a casual cosplay, but then again I'm very picky when it comes to cosplay. A perfectionist if you will.
Beetlejuice is one of my favorite movies of all times, I mean, who doesn't like Michael Keaton?
Yesterday I bought the march issue of egg and I got super inspired. I bought myself a pair of cute pants and I did my nails. I also cut a pair of old stockings into overknee socks with stay ups. I'm not satisfied with the result but hey, it's a first try. I think I'm ready for spring now!
Hi guys, did you notice anything different? I hope so! New design coming up! It's not 100% finished, but it's getting there. A huge thanks to Magnus for helping me out!
I also wanted to share this picture with you guys!
